- A headline price that turns out to exclude the £92 OPG fee
- Claims that a document is guaranteed to be accepted — no provider can promise that
- No mention of the certificate provider requirement anywhere on the site
- Pressure to pay before you can see the finished document

Checking a provider is legitimate
- It should tell you plainly whether it is a regulated law firm or a document preparation service — the two are different and both are legal to use, but only one gives advice.
- It should quote the £92 OPG fee separately from its own charge, not bundle a vague total.
- It should ask about your certificate provider, since a service that skips this question has not understood the form's requirements.
- It should let you see the completed document before you pay for it.
A worked example of comparing two providers
Ann gets two quotes: a template seller at £25 with no checking, and our service at £49 with guided questions and error checks. She calculates that a rejected DIY application would cost her the four weeks already spent waiting, plus the time to correct and resubmit it, even though the OPG fee itself would not be charged twice.
