The law that applies

Lasting Powers of Attorney exist under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and apply in England and Wales only. Scotland has continuing and welfare powers of attorney under separate legislation; Northern Ireland has enduring powers of attorney. An LPA has no legal effect until the Office of the Public Guardian has registered it.

Our status

LPAs Online is a document preparation service operated as part of Estate Advisory Group. We are not a firm of solicitors and we are not authorised or regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. We prepare Lasting Power of Attorney documents from the answers you give us and check them for common completion errors. We do not advise you on whether to make an LPA, who to appoint, or what your instructions should say.
